TO Ouidah (Benin), the project of the Slave Route was designed for facilitate the crossing of the lagoon and structure an emblematic territorial development. The project includes in particular the creation of Belvederes offering views of the lagoon, with an ATALUS implementation adapted to the constraints of the environment.
Background & purpose
Ensuring a reliable and sustainable crossing in a lagoon zone
Create landscape designs and gazebos, integrated into the site
Technical challenges
Environmental intervention partially submerged
Design of a specific pose: in the submerged area, the elements are positioned so as to touch each other, to adapt to the hydraulic and strength constraints of the structure
Need for dedicated production: a Factory was built by the ocean to manufacture the elements necessary for the construction site
Solutions implemented
Deploying ATALUS solutions with specific installation process partly submerged
Reinforcement with geotextiles supplied by SOLMAX, according to the size and requirements of the project
Result
An infrastructure allowing the crossing of the lagoon and the creation of landscape structures (belvederes), demonstrating the ability of ATALUS solutions to adapt to demanding technical contexts, including in aquatic environments.
